Fall activities with children

Are the All Saints’ Day holidays synonymous with gray and rain for you? We've found lots of ideas to add color to your family days!

Halloween activities and treasure hunts

If we had to choose just one color for this holiday, we'd go with pumpkin orange.

Halloween activities multiply during this period. Even if we don't like dressing up, we can still participate in treasure hunts and eat tons of candy without a guilty conscience. It's pretty cool, right?!

  • From October 27 to 31, the nature leisure park The Grand Défi pull out all the stops! In a forest decorated and animated by disguised staff, treasure hunts are offered to children aged 3 to 11, with makeup workshops on the weekend of October 28 and 29.
  • The Z’Animaux Vegetable Garden in Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche plays the card of the “Grand competition for the most beautiful pumpkin lantern in the family” and also offers a storytelling walk on the 28th and a witch hunt on October 31st.

Activities with animals

If your children are passionate about animals, you can go:

  • At the Garangeoire Equestrian Center for a riding course or pony baptism.
  • At the Ferme des Quatre Saisons in Saint-Julien-des-Landes on Wednesday mornings for a “In the shoes of a goatherd” visit
  • Au “Z’Animaux Vegetable Garden” in Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche where the furry and feathered inhabitants of the educational farm await you for free or guided tours, according to your wishes.

Nature activities during the holidays

Autumn is also a great season for reconnect with nature.

  • A stroll around the Jaunay Lake collecting colorful leaves that you transform into garlands at home is sometimes enough to clear your head.
  • Antonine of Connected Nature on October 25, we offer the opportunity to take parent-child duos on a storytelling stroll, with two different options. On the other hand, its creative workshop on October 24 around wild basketry techniques is aimed at an audience aged 14 and over.
  • Many local producers operate on self-pick-up basis. All you need to do is bring some containers, stock up on apples or pears depending on the moment and make a good pie when you get home, yum!
  • For the more daring, why not try pumpkin carving? You will certainly find a squash producer near you. There are numerous picture tutorials on the web and presto – that’s it. And with the missed pieces, we prepare a soup, just to clear our conscience before the pie!
