Trail circuit - Tour of Lac du Jaunay by the banks
Touchingly beautiful, Lac du Jaunay turns out to be a more technical playground than it seems. Between an appreciable diversity of landscapes, rugged segments, this circuit is for experienced trailers. A short route in distance but strong! Ideal for the preparation of future trail races.

Nautic base
The adventure begins for you, not far from the stone house, opposite the Crêperie "L'auberge du Jaunay". This first section offers no difficulty and will give you time to admire a wide panorama on your left. overlooking the lake and its rich vegetation.

Bute
Once this pleasant warm-up, things get tougher nicely. Follow the continuity of the path going up the hill.

Little wood
Once the path has been reassembled, the markings then invite you to cross the road and cross the copse.

Technical passage n°1
Before the bridge, turn directly to your left, to return to the edge of the lake. This segment will challenge you with a series of climbs and descents. Be careful to raise your legs well, many tree roots and stones are embedded in the earthy ground.

Forest area
The path then gradually takes you away from the shore, in favor of a wooded environment with dense vegetation (be sure to follow the markings – present on certain tree trunks).

Swamp
Slowly, but surely, you will reconnect with the large expanse of water. This is how a marshy area will gradually reveal itself in front of you. To your right, a small footbridge will have to be crossed, allowing you to reach the other bank.

Step 7
The circuit invites you to free yourself from several climbs, in the middle of an environment enhanced by a few green plains.

La Baudriere
The route rewards you with a fortuitous visit to a small hamlet called “La Baudrière”, then go up the rue du Jaunay and turn right towards the bridge.

Technical passage n°2
Once you reach the edge of the bridge, turn to port to discover a new forest area. Expect a technical passage in D+ which will end with a short rather steep descent. You will have to be careful of the rocks during the descent. In an exotic setting, a dirt road allows you to cross the basin here.

Technical passage n°3
If this part of the trail takes you again, along the peaceful waters of Lake Jaunay, the rest will only be short-lived. Climbing lovers will not fail to appreciate this long segment in D+. Enough to test the strength of your calves but to enjoy a pleasant rural landscape.

Lake Camping
Once you have climbed up, follow the “La Roche Baudoin” road and then turn directly to your right and go down towards the lake. After having passed “le camping du Lac”, a steep descent in the heart of the small wood awaits you. Pay attention to your stride speed. Here you are again at the edge of the lake.

Jaunay Dam
To find the right bank, cross the dam and take advantage of the view to recharge your batteries. After contemplating the beautiful curves of Lake Jaunay, get ready to get back to business.

Belvedere
Undoubtedly, the most technical part of this trail, which will give you the opportunity to take a little height. A challenge with an almost diabolical sequence of descents and ascents. Watch out for crevasses and rocks as well as the stairs with (very) steep steps.

Botanical trail
By following the botanical path, things will finally calm down. Enough to reach your starting point in peace.
