Over the past centuries, the commune of Chapelle-Hermier had ten mills. Today, only the Chiron mill remains.

At a place called Chiron, there remains a stone tower which is, in fact, the body of an old windmill which produced flour.

Dating back to the 1800s, the Chiron mill, located on the heights overlooking the Lac du Jaunay at a place called “Le Pré” is about ten meters high.
Dismantled in 1886, it was provided with a staircase leading to a platform from which one can admire the lake and its surroundings.
Hiking trails, mountain biking routes and the blue Geocaching route pass very close to this mill.
Do not hesitate to contact the Pays des Achards Tourist Office for more information.
