Our good plans with children
Going on vacation with children can prove to be a real headache, especially when your tribe is large, when the youngest still needs 2 naps while your teenager is asking to go out at night!
First, know that you are in a territory conducive to family getaways. You'll avoid the crowds and find plenty of places to relax or let off steam. The sites to visit are close to each other and you will escape long car journeys. No more famous “When are we arriving?! »

We don't really know why, but seeing 2 or 4 legged, furry or feathered companions is always a pleasure during the holidays! Visit the educational farm "The Vegetable Garden of Z'Animals", the mini-farm of Great Challenge or sign up for a pony baptism. Also keep an eye on our cultural agenda : the Tourist Office offers during the summer visits to producers local. Some raise sheep, goats, chickens or even snails. More unusual, try a donkey ride at the donkey farm Câlins Ca-ânes.

La Ferie of Santons à Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche is THE museum to visit with children. 700 authentic figurines animate 8 miniature villages and tell magical stories.
Children's shows occupy an important place in the cultural season in the Land of Pickles. Scheduled as part of the Hivernales or by the library network, you are bound to find what you are looking for. During the summer months, festivals, fireworks and village fetes invite families out.

Let's face it: going to a restaurant with children can turn into a nightmare if the service is too long or if the menu lacks fries! Better to choose a place “kid-friendly” so that the meal is pleasant for all the guests.
You can bet on safe bets guaranteed by pizzerias et Signorizza in Pickles (La Chapelle district). Rest'O Landes à Saint-Julien-des-Landes offers pizzas, but also traditional French cuisine, a perfect compromise for the whole family! Even if the menu of the Auberge du Jaunay to the Chapelle-Hermier gives pride of place to pancakes and crepes, there is also meat, fish and salads. Add to that a panoramic view of the lake, a bucolic setting and everything is there to have a good time with your family!
The "top of the top" to eat with children is the bar / restaurant The Snack at the Chapelle-Hermier. This terrace-guinguette located in the enclosure of the donkey farm Câlins Ca-ânes, the donkeys graze a few steps from the tables while the chef prepares homemade dishes for you.

Think “pick your own” from our producers; the strawberry plantation of Fruits of the Earth in Saint-Georges-de-Pointindoux is productive from the end of May to the end of September, then it will be the turn of the apples, pears and kiwis that you will find here:
- Landes orchards in Les Achards (La Mothe district)
- The Malvergne orchards in Martinet
- The Brunetière orchards in Nieul-le-Dolent.
Your little pickers will be delighted to taste their harvest on one of our picnic areas, often located near bodies of water and playgrounds.
