The Pays des Achards counts 9 Commons, all different from each other. Some villages have kept a very rural look while others are marked with a strong economic dynamism. Each commune presents particular aspects and invites to the discovery.

Nine municipalities... however ten bell towers point their spiers towards the sky. Indeed, the commune of Achards is recent; it results from the merger of La Mothe-Achard as well as La Chapelle-Achard in 2017. Each of the two districts therefore has its own church.
The respective towns still include the town hall and the church and often surprise our visitors with their abundant vegetation and the presence of a body of water. Another surprise, each town has its own Bookcases connected to a common network, which is rare in rural areas.
The vitality of our municipalities is the result of a synergy between the town halls and the inhabitants who are investing in particular in the animations and village festivals.
Did you know?
Don't be surprised to hear your Vendée host talk about " town ", when there are only three houses, five hens and a small garden! In Vendee, we call “village” a hamlet and the " town " is the place that brings together the church and the town hall. The whole of the town and the villages is what is called the "commune".
