Winter Cultural Season: Shows and Concerts in Vendée

From October to April, the cultural season "Les Hivernales" brings the show to life in the Pays des Achards, in Vendée. Theatre, concerts, French song, musical show, storytelling or even puppets: every year, the program moves to several towns in the area to meet all audiences.

For this 24th cultural seasonEight shows are scheduled from October 2026 to April 2027. Opportunities to laugh, listen, be moved, discover artists and simply enjoy a cultural outing in Vendéealone, as a couple, with friends or with family.

Theatre, concerts, family shows… a season for all audiences

For more than twenty years, The Winter offer a program that blends renowned artists and regional companies in diverse artistic universes.

Over the seasons, the public has notably been able to applaud Tété, André Manoukian & Élodie Frégé, Renan Luce, Louis Chedid, La Grande Sophie, Julie Zenatti or, Natasha St-Pier.

In 2026-2027, a new program will be introduced with... theatre, French songs, classical music, Corsican singing, improvisation, storytelling, puppetry and shows for the youngest.

Theatre to start the season

The Winter Festival begins on October 9th in Nieul-le-Dolent with Peaceful retirementA comedy that brings together a woman in her seventies placed in a retirement home against her will and a particularly optimistic and intrusive caregiver. A funny and touching encounter, presented as part of the Blue Week.

The theatre will return on February 6th at Girouard with ImproviZ From the Co-Incidences Company. This time, it's impossible to know in advance what will happen on stage: three actors improvise based on themes suggested by the audience. Each performance is therefore unique.

Shows to discover as a family

The cultural season also makes room for young audience.

Le October 10th in La Chapelle-Hermier, Under the tree invites the children 0 to 5 year-olds Discover a world of contemporary puppetry inspired by nature. Two 35-minute sessions are offered at 9:45 am and 10:45 am.

The next day, October 11 in Martinet, a change of universe with Little Jeanne on the path of the 4 worldsSuitable for ages 6 and up, this fantasy tale blends storytelling, illustrations projected on a large screen, and diatonic accordion music.

Concerts with very different themes

On the music side, the 2026-2027 season traverses particularly varied worlds.

Le November 14th in Les Achards, yves jamait this Maxime and IAccompanied by Michel Haumont and Jérôme Broyer, the artist revisits the work of Maxime Le Forestier through songs, memories and emotions. Leo's Mine will perform the opening act as a duo.

Le January 10th in Saint-Julien-des-Landes, the Voce Quartet will create a dialogue between Beethoven and Argentina in Beethoven the Argentinian? A classical concert that combines Beethoven's 7th quartet with the rhythms of tango, zamba and chacarera.

Then it's off to Corsica. March 13 in Sainte-Flaive-des-Loups with FilettaThe group's seven voices will perform sacred and secular songs and contemporary creations in The ante nove.

Finally, the season will end on April 3rd in Nieul-le-Dolent with In the Women's Choir From the Compagnie Sans Lézard. A funny and biting musical show that notably features songs by Juliette, Anne Sylvestre, Brassens, Arletty, Aznavour, Lynda Lemay, Ferrat and Gréco.

The Winter Festival has a unique feature: the cultural season moves throughout the months to different municipalities of the Pays des Achards, in Vendée.

For this 2026-2027 edition, the shows will make a stop in Achards, La Chapelle-Hermier, Le Girouard, Martinet, Nieul-le-Dolent, Saint-Julien-des-Landes and Sainte-Flaive-des-Loups.

From the performance hall to the Saint-Julien-des-Landes church, each venue offers a different atmosphere and allows for to enjoy culture close to home.
