An atypical theater
See a play in an atypical place in Vendée? In the Pays des Achards, it is possible by going to the chatbaret. The inhabitants born in La Chapelle-Achard in the 1950s still recognize their old village school, transformed into theater to accommodate a theater troupe. Curtain up for around fifteen highly talented professional artists from the region!

Small private theater with 98 seats in Pickles in the La Chapelle district, the Chatbaret offers you a program combining theatrical comedies, musical evenings, own creations and dinner shows. From September to June, the cultural season is extremely qualitative, rich and varied. Among the theatrical comedies: cult plays like Santa Clause is garbage ou The stupid dinners, successes of the policeman like Trap for a single man by Robert Thomas or the bloodhound by Shaffer, but also current cartoons by Azzopardi and Danino in Around the World in 80 days et Mission Florimont, Ooh Ooh by Isabelle Mergault, or even Who is Mr. Schmitt? by Sebastien Thiery.
The 2024-2025 program
This season, Olivier Martin, artistic director, wanted it to be funny, absurd, singing and dazzling!
You will discover in particular the cult comedy “ Croque-monsieur » or the comic cascade of twists and turns of “ Blue Camel " and of " Small crimes between friends ". You will appreciate the dazzling sincerity, the terrible beauty of Jean-Philippe Daguerre’s masterpiece “ Farewell Mr. Haffmann ". Humor will take on a new dimension with “ God lives in Düsseldorf » by Sébastien Thiéry that we love so much, and “ Closet Friends », a delirious comic commercial satire. Finally, Show Dassin will make its return at the start of the year, for lovers of the song.
