PAINTER ARTIST – BY LÉON PEDRO

Born in 1951 in Chile. Very early in Valdivia, Pedro de Leon is passionate about the practice of painting under the influence of the master watercolorist Mr. Ricardo Andwandter who lives and works in Valdivia.
In 1970, Pedro De Leon studied painting at the National Society of Fine Arts in Santiago de Chile, under the direction of the painter Adolfo Guerrero. During the 70s, Chile saw an important period of social and political changes, in which Pedro De Leon became interested as a young artist. He collaborated in the promotion of the Brigades of Mural Paintings, where he met the Chilean painter Roberto Matta for the first time.
Pedro de Leon arrived in Paris in 1976 with the intention of continuing his studies in painting. Thus in 1977 he entered the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA), where he was particularly attracted by the Mural Expression workshop directed by the painter Jean Bertholle, the Fresco workshop directed by Mr. Lenormand and the Painting Techniques workshop directed by the excellent teacher Mr. Nicolas Wacker. In 1982, Pedro De Leon obtains the superior diploma of Plastic Arts under the direction of the painter Mr. Pierre Matthey.
Pedro De Leon made several stays in Holland, Korea, Japan, China and especially in Italy to study the masters of the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, particularly seduced by the works of the painter Piero Della Francesca.
