It is a pretty hollow path lined with trees and shrubs, the refuge of dragonflies, birds, flowers and insects.
In Bellevue, route de Martinet, the path, between ponds and haires, was created thanks to two local associations:
"Knowing, protecting nature": the association acts in favor of nature through actions of discovery, protection and awareness
"Cap nature": running association
The first developments were made in 2004 with plantations, the construction of an observatory and a stone staircase to facilitate access.
Over the seasons, various landscaping and planting works were carried out and the trail was partly dug with a pickaxe by volunteers.
In 2015, the Cap nature association also wanted to get involved in the project, with the desire to create a small sunken path in the gorse and brambles. The two associations therefore joined forces for the development of this course: plantations, construction of a footbridge, installation of a hedge of dead wood, plissage of a hedge, creation of ponds...
The nature club has carried out numerous inventories on the site, birds, dragonflies, flowering plants, trees and shrubs. To highlight this educational course, the nature club has published a booklet, in particular to describe all the shrubs and trees of the bocage.
This booklet covers the 58 species of trees and shrubs listed on the 1 m of the trail. It is available at the Pays des Achards Tourist Office or at the Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche town hall.
Walkers will also be able to discover the inhabitants of the pond, the birds of the quarry, the salamander and of course the spring flowers.
The little extra: two large tables, made by Denis Crochet, complete this magical place.
