A sporty walk or a sport in its own right, disc golf is an ideal activity for spending a good time in the great outdoors with family or friends. It is a game of throwing and precision, which can be played individually or in a group. Accessible to everyone, disc golf is considered a complete sport because it works all parts of the body.
Invented in the United States in the 70s, the game arrived in France in the early 80s. Today, there are great French champions in the discipline, such as Sylvain Gouge, European champion. To date, there are 150 disc golf courses in our country, free or paid.
The rules of the game are simple and similar to those of golf, but instead of throwing a ball using a club, the player throws a disc (Frisbee) using his arm while aiming at the basket. The goal of the game is to move the frisbee from the start to a basket by throwing it in as few shots as possible.
The objective is to complete a course of 12 holes in a minimum of shots.
So, if you are looking for an activity that is suitable for the whole family (non-initiated or experts), and which is neither too sporty nor too boring, come and explore disc golf on the banks of the Bibrou!
To discover it, you just need to be equipped with a disc that you can rent or buy at the Pays des Achards Tourist Office (for information, beach Frisbees are less suitable).
